Frsky Horus X10 and X10S – lighter Horus X12S or advanced Q X7 ?
Frsky has announced their new radio transmitter – Horus X10. It has the outlook of the X7 and the features of X12S. It is lighter than Horus X12S and has some less features like no GPS and no 6-axis sensors and is powered by a Li-Po battery. Thus price range will be lower than X12S – around $330.
The new TX features hall effect gimbals, Frsky proprietary firmware (as in Horus X12S), menu navigation rotary wheel is similar as in Q X7. Horus X10 has external antenna and also two internal antennas, as well built-in upgraded iXJT Module.

Now we know that X10 will have internal 2S Li-Ion battery with 2600 mAh capacity.
Internal RF module has 4 antenna connectors. Only 2 of them are connected. One for external antenna and second one internal, PCB (?).

If you wonder what is the difference between various FrSky gimbals here is the information (thanks to MIke Dailey):
The X12S, released in August of 2016 was the first FrSky system with Hall Effect sensor gimbals. They are called MC12 gimbals and are 6 bearing, metal CNC, Hall sensor gimbals with the metal crossbars on the back of the mechanics. The concept of the MC12 gimbal with the crossbars on the back was the inspiration for all the other FrSky Hall Effect gimbals as follows:
M7, Metal mounting frame, plastic mechanics (with metal crossbars), 4 bearings, Hall Effect sensor gimbal for the Q X7 TX family.
M9, M9R*, Metal mounting frame, plastic mechanics (with metal crossbars), 4 bearings, Hall Effect sensor gimbal for the X9D TX family.
M10, Metal mounting frame, plastic mechanics (with metal crossbars), 4 bearings, Hall Effect sensor gimbal for the X10 TX.
MC12 plus, Metal CNC frame (with metal crossbars), 10 bearings, Hall Effect sensor gimbal for the X10S TX.
*M9R also reduced stick throw for faster response.

Horrible design, especially the bottom.
All they had to do, is to use the same design as the taranis Q X7, but to put a color screen and better gimbals and better case material , and make the shape a bit smoother and bam!
Some will hate it some will like it. It is really a matter of taste. For me this new Horus looks nice ?? I like the amber colour scheme. Actually the design is very Q X7 like. Everyones opinion matters and this new X10 transmiters was made on the customers feedback. So a lot of users wanted to get cheaper, lighter Horus, slider moved to the sides ant etc. I hope the faceplate is aluminium, not the plastic.
Yeah in the paper this radio is pretty neat (I hope the inside is more like the X7 than the horus), but…
It’s just that… come on! the rubber on the side looks used and old even before anybody touched it. I dont ask for Apple design and finition (actually I would do), but this is a 350 dollars device we talk about, and it has the design features and quality of a 12 dollars electronic gadget.
Also, their radios are too big, why do they need to make it like 20 cm large ?

For the price, it is very competitive compared to others! Look at the price of a Jeti … Jeti this is Apple and x10 Android to continue in your example. We make everything see more than the Jeti. In return, minor construction defects must be accepted. 2 different philosophy
Yeah, we are all talking about two types of the transmitters. TX requirements for multirotors and for fixed wings differs greately. For fixed wing I would like solid TX with number of features, while for most of my quads I only need small, simple TX with good gimbals and 6-7 channels. Thats it, nothing more.
