Farewell, DYS

As you may already know (or not), DYS, the manufacturer of the brushless motors, electronics and other RC parts, has closed their business. It seems that DYS was struggling with the finances and had to go into bankrupt on the September 2019. There was a letter from DYS, circulating on the net, stating that “Announcement: Due to poor management of the company, it is unable to pay debts and employee salaries. The company decided to abandon the business in September due to the shareholder’s deliberation.”

Welcome, FlashHobby

A new company called FlashHobby took over the manufacturing equipment from DYS company. In fact they are located in the same manufacturing building. They are continuing to produce the iconic G (D) series D2836 D2822, D2830, D2812, D2225, D3530, D3536, D3543, D3548 brushless motors for fixed-wing airplanes.

Unfortunately we probably will not see the old DYS motors for quadcopters anymore sold soon. Samguk, Fire, Storm, Thor, SUN-FUN are discontinued. You may see some stock leftovers on sale somewhere, but they are not produced anymore.

But don’t be upset, FlashHobby released the new Arthur brushless motor series for quadcopters.

FlashHobby are going to develop and produce more brushless motors, flight controllers and other RC electronics in the future. Let’s with them good luck and I’m happy to know that DYS legacy continues.

DYS Aria F45A 4in1 and Aria 40A ESCs

DYS has prepared to release two new ESCs: Aria F45A 4in1 ESC and Aria 40A slim ESC.

DYS Aria F45A 4in1 ESC

This ESC is running on BLHeli_32 firmware. Is rated for continuous current at 45A and bursts up to 50A. Has onboard BEC for 5V/A and 9V/1.5A. Unfortunately it has conservative voltage support from 3S up to only 5S. Everybody is expecting 6S nowadays.

DYS Aria 40A ESC

Just as DIATONE has released their slim series Mamba 40A ESCs, DYS now has their own slim ESC – Aria 40A. DYS Aria is super slim – width is only 11mm. Aria ESC is rated at 40A continues current and supports from 3S up to 6S. Of course Aria 40A is running on the most modern BLHeli_32 firmware. ESC has RGB LED on board.

Rumors: DYS F45A BLHeli_32 4in1 ESC

A few photos of the upcomming DYS F45A BLHeli_32 4in1 ESC appeared on the FB. ESC will support 3-6S battery input and wil deliver 45Amps of curent. This ESC will have Current Sensor, Telemetry. With telemetry you will be able to read motor Rpm’s, ESC temperature and it will show up on your OSD.

DYS Shark Mako – Big Whoop that bites?

DYS has unvealed their upcoming new quadcopter – DYS Shark Mako. It is 100mm size Tiny Whoop style brushless quadcopter. It has unibody plastic frame, BE1104-5400KV motors. It is rated as working with 3S battery, but can support even 4S. The weight is 135g (with battery)
The options for buing will be RTF and BNF. The released date will be around the beginning of Feb 2018
Another interesting item – we can see new DYS remote controller on the photo. DYS has named it Mr.Q. It is 2.4G and D8 mode. It can hold the mobile phone for some WiFi FPV experience. The controller, that came with the DYS Elf quadcopter was not good – bad gimbals, a lot of deadzone. Lets hope DYS has fixed theese issues in the new controller.

DYS is releasing their new?mini F4 FC and F18A 4in 1 ESC.? FC has F4 MCU and OSD, while ESC has current sensor on board. Both, FC and ESC?support 2-4S lipos. ESC (or both) have 5V 2A BEC. Board mounting size is 20x20mm. Boards are connected via 2 silicon wire ribbon with JST-SH connectors. The weight of the FC is?6g. Total weight of the stack is 14 g.

DYS first BLHeli_32bit ESC

BLHeli_32 market starts to accelerate. DYS has announced their first ESCs running?BLHeli_32?bit firmware. They are capable of 35A continuous current, supports DShot300?and up to DShot1200. They are rated for 2-6S and are only 3.78g without any cables, and the size is 32x15mm. We can see current sensor and multicolored LED on the ESC. Current sensor is for current limiting and LED possibly for displayin ESC statuses.

We dont have much infomation on this ESC, but possible features are:

programmable PWM frequency of up to 48KHz
Auto-timing for higher efficiency and realiability
Voltage/Current limiting
Adjustable “Brake on Stop” force
Improve direction change in Bidirectional mode

DYS Thor 2408 – supersized motor

DYS is preparing to release their Thor motor. It is a sequel of the Fire and Storm motor line. While we dont have the full data, according to the fact that?the outer dimensions of this motor is 2mm wider than Storm, we guess that it’s size should be?2407. The design is similar to the Storm motor, only the base ot the motor is more open. This motor comes in 2200KV and 2500KV. Suitable for bigger quads and 6 -7” props.

DYS, known as quality products manufacturer, released their first F4 Flight Controller, F30A 1in1 ESC and F20A 4in1 ESC. One of the most interesting features – these two components have interconnection sockets and can be staked one on another without any wire connection. This allows tight and neat installation. Looks like everyone is into micro brushless bussiness lately. DYS is working on their new brushless Tiny Whoop. It will have new DYS 1102 10000KV motors, DYS 2030 triblade propellers. This is all we know so far.
